La stella cometa ha una struttura in metallo verniciato bianco rivestita di un tubo led con effetto puntiforme.
Al suo interno è montata una strip led, un sottile tubicino piatto che contiene 240 led di cui 225 a luce fissa e 15 con lampeggio lento. Il gioco di luce è automatico.
Grazie a questa strip led molto luminosa la figura è particolarmente brillante, soprattutto se viene appesa a una parete.
La stella cometa può essere appesa (tramite l'anello presente ad un'estremità) sola in centro alla parete o abbinata ad altre uguali o con figure della stessa serie (cristalli di neve o stelle comete).
La decorazione funziona in bassa tensione grazie al trasformatore integrato al cavo di alimentazione lungo 4 m.
