Choose the fixing method based on the type of surface

A masonry wall requires different fixings than a metal fence, a wooden panel or a plasterboard wall. Before starting, check that the surface is stable, clean and suitable to support the weight of the panels.

How to electrically connect the panels with LEDs
In versions with integrated LEDs, each Green Wall Light panel includes a string light already installed and equipped with male/female connectors. These connectors allow multiple panels to be connected in sequence, creating a green wall with a continuous lighting effect, without needing to add separate lights after installation.
On a single line, up to a maximum of 28 panels can be connected in sequence, equal to around 14 linear metres.
The connection cable starts from the centre of the panel and is long enough to reach the panels positioned next to it, both vertically and horizontally. To connect the panels, simply join the male/female connectors together, following the layout planned for the wall.
For larger configurations, using the multi-connectors and the extension cables from the Connect ProLine 36V series, it is possible to connect multiple lines of panels, always within the maximum limit of 28 panels per single line, up to the maximum power supported by the chosen power supply.
Example: with a 75 W power supply, up to 128 panels in total can be connected, organised into 4 lines of 25 panels and one line of 28 panels.
Once the connection has been made, cables and connectors can be hidden by opening the foliage well with your hands and moving it over the connection point. This step is important to achieve a clean result, where the technical part remains as little visible as possible even when observing the wall up close.
Before fixing all the panels permanently, it is advisable to carry out a connection test and check that the system works correctly.

How to join the panels together

For this type of installation, you generally need:

- spirit level;
- drill;
- wall plugs suitable for the type of wall;
- screws;
- washers;

Washers are important because they help distribute the fixing pressure more evenly across the panel structure, reducing the risk of the screw pulling too much on a single point.
How to proceed
- Measure the wall and mark a guide line with the spirit level;
- Position the first panel at the starting point;

- Drill the wall and insert the wall plugs;
- Fix the panel using screws and washers;
- Continue with the next panels, maintaining alignment;

For a regular wall, it is best to proceed from a reference corner and check the position of the modules frequently. On large surfaces, even a small initial error can become visible as the panels are fixed.
Installation on a wooden or plywood wall
If the wall is made of wood, plywood or a prepared rigid structure, fixing can be simpler than on masonry.
In this case, you can use wood screws, preferably with washers, choosing a length suitable for the thickness of the support.
Here too, the support must be stable and well anchored. The green panel can be correctly fixed to the wood, but if the underlying structure is not solid, the final installation will not be safe.
Once the panels have been fixed, always check the joining points and open the foliage to hide the perimeter of the modules and any cable routing.
Installation on mesh, fence or railing

Plasterboard requires more attention than a solid wall. Not all fixings are suitable, and the hold depends on the thickness of the board, the presence of studs and the overall weight of the wall.
For small indoor projects, you can consider specific fixings for plasterboard or hollow walls. Alternatively, especially when the surface is larger, it may be useful to prepare a wooden or plywood support panel, correctly fixed to the structure, on which to then install the Green Wall Light panels.
In these cases, it is important to avoid improvised fixings. If you are not sure about the hold of the wall, it is better to ask a technician or installer to check it.
When a substructure is needed
Not all walls are suitable for fixing the panels directly.
In some cases, it is better to first create a wooden or metal substructure, onto which the Green Wall Light panels can then be fixed. It is a more professional solution, but often the most appropriate one when the existing support is not regular or does not guarantee secure fixing.
A substructure can be useful when:
- the wall is very irregular;
- the support is not strong enough;
- you do not want to fix the panels directly to the original surface;
- you need to create a freestanding wall;
- you want to manage cables and connections more effectively;
- the project is large-scale;
- the installation is at height.
In these cases, the substructure becomes the load-bearing base of the green wall. The panels are then fixed to the structure with screws, washers, cable ties or other suitable fixings.

Can adhesives or no-drill solutions be used?
In some cases, yes, but with many limitations.
Mounting adhesive, silicone, double-sided tape or adhesive hooks can only be considered for small indoor installations, on smooth, clean and compatible surfaces. However, they are not the most suitable solution for outdoor installations, large surfaces, panels exposed to wind or professional environments.
The main limitation of adhesive solutions is the variability of the application context: the hold depends on the surface, the product used, the weight, humidity, temperature and drying time.
In addition, they are often not easily reversible. When the panel is removed, the wall or the panel itself may be damaged.
For this reason, if the project needs to be stable and long-lasting, it is better to choose fixing with screws, wall plugs, washers, cable ties or a dedicated structure.
Can the panels be cut?
It depends on the type of panel.
Panels with integrated LEDs cannot be freely cut, because they contain cables, connectors and light points that are already positioned. Cutting them in an unintended way could damage the string light or compromise the operation of the system.
However, the 50 × 50 cm panel can be separated into two halves. The integrated string light is arranged in a serpentine pattern, allowing the panel to be divided in half without interrupting the electrical connection.
The two halves remain connected to each other by the string light cable and can be arranged to obtain a narrower, elongated configuration, for example a 25 × 100 cm strip, when the project requires it.
The individual 25 × 25 cm modules, however, are not designed to be separated and used independently.
For freer cuts, shaped edges or irregular forms, it is advisable to use the panels without LEDs, which can be adapted with greater flexibility and completed, where necessary, with the accessory string lights from the same series.
Where to position the power supply, dimmer and connections
The electrical part must be planned before the panels are permanently fixed.
